
Expansion of voivodeship road no. 744 and construction of the Starachowice bypass

The project covered the expansion of voivodeship road DW 744 between Tychów Stary and Starachowice together with a new north-western bypass of the city.
It was commissioned by the Świętokrzyski Zarząd Dróg Wojewódzkich in Kielce with a contract value of PLN 162,514,832.44 gross.
Scope of works
The task included the modernisation of the existing DW 744 section and the construction of a new bypass with supporting infrastructure.
- Expansion of DW 744 between Tychów Stary and Starachowice.
- Construction of a ~3.5 km long north-western bypass of Starachowice.
- Construction of a 42 m diameter roundabout on DW 744.
- Connection of Strzelnicza Street with two public exits at km 1+500.80 of the bypass.
- Construction of a roundabout in WÄ…chock on national road DK 42 together with reconstruction of the adjacent section.
- Execution of a 680 m long 13-span viaduct over the Kamienna River and railway line no. 25 along with safety infrastructure.
- Obtaining all required opinions, permits and decisions.
- Construction of the voivodeship road together with engineering structures and accompanying infrastructure.
Importance of the Starachowice bypass
The bypass begins on national road DK 42 between Starachowice and Wąchock, crosses the Kamienna River, runs near the Special Economic Zone and connects with DW 744 in Tychów Stary.
Its final section ties back into DK 42, improving traffic flow and relieving the city centre while enhancing regional road safety.
