
Expansion of voivodeship road no. 744 and construction of the Starachowice bypass
The project comprised the expansion of Voivodeship Road DW 744 between Tychów Stary and Starachowice, together with the construction of a new north-western bypass of Starachowice.
The investment was commissioned by the Świętokrzyski Zarząd Dróg Wojewódzkich w Kielcach.
The gross contract value amounted to PLN 162,514,832.44.
Scope of Works
The scope of the project included the modernisation of the existing DW 744 section and the construction of a new bypass, together with all accompanying infrastructure.
Key elements of the scope comprised:
- Expansion of DW 744 between Tychów Stary and Starachowice
- Construction of an approximately 3.5 km-long north-western bypass of Starachowice
- Construction of a roundabout with a diameter of 42 m on DW 744
- Connection of Strzelnicza Street with two public exits at km 1+500.80 of the bypass
- Construction of a roundabout in Wąchock on national road DK 42, together with reconstruction of the adjacent road section
- Construction of a 680 m-long, 13-span viaduct over the Kamienna River and railway line No. 25, including full safety infrastructure
- Obtaining all required opinions, permits, and administrative decisions
- Construction of the voivodeship road together with engineering structures and associated infrastructure
Importance of the Starachowice Bypass
The bypass begins on national road DK 42 between Starachowice and Wąchock, crosses the Kamienna River, runs in the vicinity of the Special Economic Zone, and connects with DW 744 in Tychów Stary.
The final section reconnects with DK 42, improving traffic flow, relieving congestion in the city centre, and significantly enhancing regional road safety.
