Construction of high-speed tramway line from Kasprzaka to Wilan ów on the section from Western Railway Station to the junction with Grójecka Street
The line, built by a consortium of ZUE SA – Leader and Fabe Polska Sp. zo.o. – Partner, will be approximately 1.6 km long. A single-track tramway tunnel with a length of over 600 m will carry the tramway line on the section from Western Railway Station to Bitwy Warszawskiej 1920 Street.
The new tramway line will start under the Warsaw West railway station, where an underground station will be built at level -2 of the railway complex, connected with underground passages and the railway station. Thanks to this investment, passengers will be able to reach Warsaw Western Station by tram, and under the station there will be a convenient underground interchange node from which it will be easy to reach the railway and bus platforms.
Task description
The facility will pass collision-free under Jerozolimskie Avenues, Zachodni Park and Bitwy Warszawskiej 1920 Street. From there, the tram will travel through a tunnel over 600 meters long under Zachodni Park. The exit from the tunnel and the next station will be located between the carriageways of Bitwy Warszawskiej 1920 Street in the area of the intersection with Szczęśliwicka Street. The route then leads south-east towards Grójecka Street, where it will connect with existing tramway lines designed for reconstruction.
Scope of work
Contract value is PLN 362,628,938.03 gross
- Construction of a tramway line together with the construction and reconstruction of infrastructure from Western Railway Station to the junction with Grójecka Street.
- Construction of a tunnel under Jerozolimskie Avenue, Pięciu Sióstr Park and Bitwy Warszawskiej Street.
- Construction of a tramway line in a tunnel under Western Railway Station, in a tunnel under Jerozolimskie Avenue and Pięciu Sióstr Park, and in the road reserve of Bitwy Warszawskiej, Grójecka and Banacha Streets.
- Reconstruction of the road reserve of: Jerozolimskie Avenue, Bitwy Warszawskiej Street, Grójecka Street and Banacha Street (to the extent necessary to build the tramway line).
- Reconstruction or securing conflicts along the entire section.
- Construction of a traction substation.
